Here are some simple steps on how you can Choose2Reuse at home.
Say 'no' to unnecessary shopping bags and take carrier bags with you or a reusable cotton bag.
Any scrap vegetables left over, place in your home compost bin so that it is composted.
Donating unwanted items to local projects or charity shops
Get milk delivered in glass bottles
Donating your old spectacles to charity
Using 'cotton or reuseable nappies'
Using refillable printer ink cartridges and sending off empty cartridges to be reused
Using 'rechargeable' batteries
Giving something that you no longer use to someone that can use it - maybe use eBay where you can buy and sell unwanted items locally, nationally and globally. Or through your local newspapers. Some papers allow you to place a free advert. Another option is to have a stall at a local car boot sale
Empty, cut down mineral water bottles can be used as mini green houses for young plants
Old carpet or cardboard can be used to insulate compost heaps or placed on the grounds to clear areas of weeds
Cracked and broken crockery can be smashed and used for drainage crocks in plant pots
Buy products that can be refilled e.g. like Body Shop, Ecover products
Refuse to choose what you cannot reuse!
